Marc Jacobs- Ready-To-Wear

The Seventies.

Marc Jacobs apparent inspiration for his Spring/Summer 2011 collection and I cannot rave about this anymore. The colours, the fabrics, the hairstyles; this is my favourite collection of the whole season and I cannot wait to see it photographed for his next campaigns!

Every outfit looks as if it were stolen from Studio 54 and teleported to his showrooms for display in the New York Fashion Week. The collection featured sheer voluminous silk gowns, patent clutch bags, tight knitted bandeau tops and huge decorative hair pieces in burnt sienna, mauve and rasberry shades. The models had crimped, frizzed out hair and a make up palette of burgundy lips and blacked out eyes; with that obvious hint of Seventies glitter.

For the first time, I’m starting to see the appeal with corsages.

Jacobs also showed a beautiful selection of couture style dresses in a shimmering creped black and gold.

Every season, he never fails to impress.

PS. The satin pink dungarees made dungarees completely acceptable.
